Rebalancing is an integrated method of Bodywork that combines deep tissue massage (Rolfing), joint release (Trager), and range of motion techniques to assist clients in freeing the holding patterns that contribute to pain and imbalance. By integrating mindfulness and breath into the work, Rebalancing offers remarkable depth without being forceful.
Michael was born and raised in Powell River and was certified at the Kootenay School of Rebalancing Bodywork in 2004. In his 20 years of practice he’s developed an inclination to investigate lifestyle factors, emotional health, and mental patterns that can contribute to unnecessary suffering. He has studied and practiced meditation for over 20 years and is currently training in Hakomi, a somatic method of psychotherapy and self study. He believes that by offering close attention to the emotional and mental states that drive behaviour, we can support the body’s innate ability to heal itself. Between 2019-2024 Michael has worked at a centre for mental health and recovery and has seen first hand, the remarkable benefits of bodywork and massage for those struggling with addiction.
When Michael isn’t working he can be found spending time in the forest with his dog, providing sound/DJ services for local events, and studying music, Hakomi, and meditation.
